Eagle Point Park

Clinton’s most treasured asset, Eagle Point Park is a 200-acre part that sits atop the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. The park contains a 1937 Stone Tower, disc golf course, picnic spaces with and without small pavilions, multiple playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, two Mississippi River overlooks, walking paths, and a winding road with great views of the park and the river.
Sawmill Museum

The museum tells the 19th century story of when the Clinton lumber companies joined with Weyerhaeuser from the Quad Cities and a few others to create a “monopoly”. Known as the Weyerhaeuser syndicate, our area lumbermen ruled the Northwoods and the western lumber trade. Discover a river story, an Iowa story, and a national story. Exhibits are for all ages and are highly interactive and engaging. Hours and admission vary. Group rates available for parties of 15+. Contact the museum for more details.
Curtis Mansion

The gorgeous historic home of lumber baron George M Curtis, the Curtis Mansion showcased a beautiful example of 1880s architecture. Each room highlights a different type of wood, the home contains more than 40 stained glass windows, carved banisters, ornate wood trim, and massive fireplaces. Tours are available by appointment only.
Clinton County Historical Society Museum and Library

Containing a museum of Clinton County artifacts, library with many original books, and 3 heritage gardens to honor Clinton County residents, the Clinton County Historical Society Museum and Library (CCHS) was established in 1965 to preserve, promote, and display the history of residents as they lived, worked, and played. The building itself was originally used as a Commission House for steamboats dating back to 1858. CCHS is open various days and hours, with special tours welcome by prior arrangement.

Wide River Winery

Nestled on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River’s widest point, Wide River Winery is a 10-acre vineyard producing approximately 15,000 gallons of wine each year. The winery provides wine, food, and tours.

Rock Creek Marina and Campground. Where the Mississippi and Wapsipinicon Rivers meet! Located on the backwaters of the Mississippi River, activities includes camping, cabins, boating, fishing, hiking, and much more. Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center. Our state-of-the-art Eco Tourism Center will educate and entertain tourists, as well as provide an excellent place for local schools, families, clubs, and all folks to explore our great Mississippi River heritage. Come see the big fish on display and the 8,000 gallon aquarium with local river fish species. There are also displays with wildlife of the river, turtle island, giant cottonwood, a riverbank display, and more. Blue Heron Eco Cruises. The Blue Heron is a 24-passenger pontoon boat that gives cruisers an up-close and personal look at the Mississippi River. It’s a fun way for people celebrate nature together. A naturalist will conduct tours through backwaters, sloughs, and the main channel. Public sunset cruises are offered Thursday evenings at 7 PM between June and October. We also offer some cruises on weekend mornings throughout the summer. Space is limited, and reservations are required. Fulton, IL
Heritage Canyon

Heritage Canyon is a 12-acre wooded structure and nature walk dotted with buildings that take the visitor back to the 1800s. Built in an abandoned limestone quarry, Heritage Canyon was bought by Harold and Thelma Wierenga in 1867 and transformed into the quaint village that remains. Today, the site is owned by the City of Fulton. Open 9 AM to 5 PM between April 15 and December 15 for self-guided walks/tours. Free-will donations used for improvement of Heritage Canyon buildings.
Fulton de Immigrant Windmill & Windmill Cultural Center

Fulton’s Dutch Windmill was manufactured and pre-assembled in the Netherlands. Following delivery to Fulton, the Windmill was assembled and installed by Dutch craftsman. Standing nearly 100 feet tall, the massive timbers are assembled by wooden pegs. The windmill is fully operational.
The Windmill Cultural Center (WCC) houses an extensive collection of 22 European windmills varying in size up to 6 feet tall. The WCC also contains a charming gift shop and educational area. Tours are available to groups with 10 or more individuals and include both the Windmill and Cultural Center. To schedule, please call or email lwebster@clintonia.com or 563-559-2193. Lock & Dam 13

Located four miles north of Fulton, Lock & Dam 13 recreational area features a boat ramp, an observation deck overlooking the locks, and a picnic shelter. Boats of all kinds and sizes pass through the locks and visitors can view the activities from only a few feet away. Listed on the US National Register of Historic Places. The Thomson Park Rangers give walking tours of Lock & Dam 13 every Sunday afternoon at 1 PM. For more details, please call 815-259-3628. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day for sightseeing.
